Heres a shot of two bodies I’m working on today. I just got done gluing up the tops yesterday and today they came out of the clamps and had the sides routed flush. I designed my templates so that in the beginning both my bolt on and set neck bodies start off the same. On my set necks I like to extend the wood out a bit to allow for contouring later on so this works in my favor. This adds extra material I need to shape the back contours on the set neck models. I like to shape a gentle transition from the neck to the body that feels natural in your hand and allows unhindered access to the upper frets. These two bodies are destined to be bolt on models. For those I do a gentle slope from the body toward the lower outer neck bolt on the heel for a comfortable feel.
